Abstract
The language and by extension foreign language factor has no doubt been occupying a pride of place in the Northeast of Nigeria and in almost every part of Nigeria at large over a period of time now. The imperativeness of language is indispensable and felt in every sphere of human life as a strong tool in human co-existence. This paper therefore focuses on highlighting the fundamental role and imperativeness of the French language as a foreign language for specific purposes such as in security provisioning in the northeast of Nigeria. It goes further to x-ray and analyzes the dividends of international bilingualism and their possible impacts in security management. It is an indubitable fact that Nigeria is surrounded by francophone countries. The French language seems in very strong term to be a panacea for settling the problems and challenges in the quest and bid to harmonizing, managing insecurity and truly developing a progressing society that is devoid of conflict, fracas and pandemonium in Nigeria
