This edition of Mitochondrial Eve Journal of Post Graduate Studies of the Faculty of Humanities is a good shift from other editions as it is an empirical work of most postgraduate students of the Faculty of Humanities. This special edition has not in doubt launched the journal into the new era of research, discipline and encouragement in academics. The Faculty of Humanities post graduate journal with the title “Mitochondrial Eve Journal of Humanities Post Graduate Studies” is an evidence of Humanities as the mother eve of all studies as represented by the following departments ( English and Literary Studies, French, History and International Studies, Igbo and Linguistics, Philosophy, Religion, Peace and Conflict Studies and Theatre Arts) which major place of existence lies on the human life and daily activities of human as a communicative specie.
Welcome to the second edition of Odeeokaa Journal of English and Literary Studies Department, Imo State University, Owerri, Nigeria. After our first edition, the journal has become the most sought after resource material for scholars and students who want to intensify their researches in the areas of humanities and social sciences.
Last time, we dwelt on articles that drew our attention to the different socio-cultural, economic and political situations that are ravaging our society, especially, Nigeria. We equally tried to bring to our amiable readers, articles that demonstrate our strong belief in the possibility of salvation after the painful loss of human dignity, necessitated by our unquenchable lure of the ash.
Kpakpando: Journal of History and International Studies, is a publication of the Department of History and International Studies, Faculty of Humanities, Imo State University, Owerri, Nigeria, committed to publishing peer-reviewed articles in History and International Studies, Development Studies, International Relations, Humanities, Social Sciences as well as related disciplines. Kpakpando as a multi-disciplinary journal, seeks to promote and encourage research and scholarship on African history, Blacks in Diaspora, social movements, culture, linguistics, English and Literary Studies, Religion, African Philosophy, Theatre Arts as well as French, to forge intellectual links and network with scholars and policy makers, and activists in Africa and beyond; to participate actively and collaboratively in continental and global debates, with interested organizations in Africa and other countries of the World, on issues specifically relevant as well as correlated to African Studies, and to work proactively for the promotion of scholarship or linkages with interested organisations or institutions in diverse regions of the world.
The intention to promote scholarship and end societal evils like child labour, child trafficking, child soldiery and other forms of child abuses that pose a threat to the African child’s successful development informed the creation of Juvenile Journal, by Professor Godwin Chibundu Egbucha. The Journal sees the child or youth as a human being and a veritable part of the society, who deserves genuine care and respect in order to experience a healthy growth and development, a condition which is necessary for a meaningful contribution to the well-being of the society. JUVEJ welcomes papers from scholars whose ideas and values promote the welfare of the African children and people.
